Principal

Catharine Campbell - Principal

With 24 years of experience in education, Catharine Campbell is a dedicated and passionate leader committed to fostering academic excellence and creating an inclusive, supportive school environment. Catharine began her career in education after earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico in 2000, followed by a Master of Arts in Secondary Education in 2001.

Her journey in education started as a teacher at Polk Middle School in Albuquerque, NM, where she worked for a year before relocating to Las Vegas, NV. In Las Vegas, she spent four years as a Math and Science teacher, honing her expertise in those subjects and developing a strong passion for helping students master challenging content. Building on her experience, Catharine Campbell transitioned into the role of Math/Science Strategist for two years, where she supported teachers in developing effective instructional strategies and improving student outcomes. After returning to New Mexico, Catharine Campbell taught math for six years at LLMS.

Driven by a desire to make a broader impact on education, she transitioned into an administrative role, first serving as Assistant Principal at Sundance ES and Valencia MS and now has served for eight years as the principal of Raymond Gabaldon Elementary, leading with a focus on student achievement, teacher development, and community engagement.

Charlotte Johnson - Assistant Principal

As an educator with 24 years of experience, I’m excited to serve as the Assistant Principal at Raymond Gabaldon Elementary School. I am extremely committed to supporting students, empowering teachers, and building strong school communities. In 2024, I also achieved a major professional milestone by earning my administration certificate, strengthening my passion for educational leadership. 

My educational journey began with an associate’s degree in Secretarial Administration with a specialization in Computer Accounting and Applications from New Mexico State University. I then earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Language Arts and TESOL from the University of New Mexico in 2002. Driven to make a greater impact, I completed a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with a focus on Teaching with Technology at Kaplan Online University in 2008, followed by the mentioned Administration Certificate in from UNM in 2024. 

I’m a proud mom of three amazing daughters and a loving grandmother to 10 wonderful grandkids who fill my life with laughter and energy. I bring that same joy and enthusiasm into my work, focusing on creating a supportive and engaging environment for students, staff, and families. 

Throughout my career, I’ve served as a teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum director, gaining extensive experience in professional development, data analysis, and mentoring educators. My goal for Raymond Gabaldon Elementary is to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence where every student thrives, every teacher feels supported, and every family is engaged in our shared success.
